The Barrier Tracker app is part of the AMBER project.
AMBER stands for Adaptive Management of Barriers in European Rivers.
AMBER is a research project funded by the Horizon 2020 framework programme of the European Union.
It seeks to apply adaptive management to the operation of barriers in European rivers to achieve a more efficient restoration of stream connectivity, and address impacts caused by river fragmentation.
By using the barrier tracker app you are joining a growing number of people within the AMBER citizen science community, all of whom are concerned about the effects of barriers on the ecology of our rivers and landscapes.Your efforts will help us to map barriers in streams and rivers all across Europe and create a definitive European database of barriers.
The AMBER citizen science project also helps you to learn about barriers in Europe and their effects on the environment.
